I created three assemblies with a Velcro top cap and a large single bolt connection on a riser to be accessible to Walters maintenance staff. Releasing this one bolt separates the entire unit into its three component parts.

Note the long bolt under the top panel button, this allows the button to come up and function as as a handle to remove the top panel without having museum staff resort to prying the panel up, potentially damaging it.

The second piece is a custom banquette. Usually this wouldn't be a challenge but because of the uneven nature of 200 year old construction we had to take precise field measurements to ensure a true fit on site.

Once we took those measurements I ended up having to draw an asymmetric banquette.
